    Hi All,

I am in the process of acquiring a Heuer Skipper 15640 (blue dial). It is supposed to be in all original condition and directly from the first owner who purchased it in the 1970s.

The issue with the watch though is that the hands have faded to light yellow. It hence loses some of the appeal that the bright orange hands typically bring to the Heuer Skipper.

I am now trying to search for replacement hands for the watch.

I vaguely recall someone telling me in the past that the orange hands used across all Heuers from Cal 11 to 15 are the same. I hope to seek help to confirm that this is true so that I will know what I am looking for.

Thanks in advance for any information you can share!

    Cheers,
    Sam

Hi Sam, the hand holes should be the same for cal 11-15, and this style of hands should be the same across the Autavia 11630 range also so yes should I interchangeable.

Where are based, there may be a solution to paint them too....?
    Thanks, Steve

Thanks Steve! I am based in Singapore but the Heuer Skipper I am getting is coming from Germany.

Prefer not to repaint the current hands so that if I ever decide to sell or pass on the watch in future, the new owner will still have the flexibility of putting back the original hands if he/she wishes.

Incidentally, I may have found a pair of new hands. But the areas around the hole have not been painted. Not sure if there is anyone good enough to do this right in Singapore though.

Hi Sam, be careful with these. I'm guessing they're from swiss watches and more-while they are described as NOS Heuer hands, sometimes they don't actually fit!
    Best, Steve

Wow! You really know your watches. Yes, they are from swiss watches and more.

The seller claimed that they would fit but he said i would have to do the paint work myself. I am still looking around for something that is ready made and i can just put them on.

Yeah, I spent many hours/days/weeks/months/years sourcing parts myself so you tend to recognise the ads after such a long time!

Below is a comparison of a sweep hand (that fits) and one from swiiss watches (which doesn't).

That said, I have bought other things from him over time that were fine and as advertised.
