Hi All

Considering my options for the next purchase. A UAE Autavia will be collected one day due to growing up in the Middle East but I am thinking of a more immediate purchase.

I quite like the history of this one: http://chronomatic.com/saudi.html

It got me thinking, do you know of any other Arab themed Heuers?

Yes, I do! There was a second generation Carrera 110.255 commissioned by Bahrain for their participation in the 1980 Olympics. Which they never attended because of a boycott, but the watches reached the market regardless.

I’m sure I wrote a piece about them (for OnTheDash I think, rather than here) but can’t find it by searching now. I’ll look and see if I can find the draft later.

We have seen a couple of divers with arabic writing. Here is a thread about one-
http://chronocentric.com/forums/heuer/index.cgi?md=read;id=56476
which I believe is the same type as this-
attachment.php
which is from this thread on WUS-
https://forums.watchuseek.com/f25/need-help-heuer-980-014-quartz-2745818.html

(in case anyone is wondering we now know the caseback 980.014/13 marking is irrelevant to any dial marking/issue as it is common to early 980.013 models with plexi crystal to have this.)

GRAILS! We all suffer as I am learning...

I, personally, am very interested in this years Qatar Limited Edition but I am not sure I am going to get there or what the dynamics are.

Well after @SteveP first showed me this picture I had to get one. I had posted on a WUS forum a long time ago saying for someone to reach out if they found another and a person recently did. They are based in the Netherlands and had got it off someone who's father worked for the Sheikh and received it from him at a dinner. It should now be with me in a few weeks 😀.

To date I am only aware of 3 (now) units of this watch. One is in Bangkok and I happen to speak with the guy regularly after finding out he owned one, and the other I am not sure where it is (the one pictured in the original image above).

Here are a few photos from the seller and I will provide some more when it arrives. Have already been in touch with Justin at Tag1000 about getting it over for a service.

Cheers!

Fantastic and congratulations! Good things come to those who wait! 👍 Original bracelet too is a bonus.
As I think you are in the UK (?) there is a guy here who could service this also. Justin is A1, it would just save you shipping it abroad and back.
These are rare for sure-I think I saw one for sale in Japan some years ago. Here's my non-signed '666'-these are pretty scarce even without the inscription!

Best, Steve
