I disagree, collectors make a tiny proportion of TAGs market.
But they remain in marketing terms, "opinion leaders" and have a high degree of influence.

No effect on me regarding the slogan. They all need a hook of some sort and see it by the ambassadors that they bring on board it has some sort of relevance.

The ambassadors really don't bother me that much, I just don't feel like they impose themselves much on me (which rather suggests they are a waste of money)... indeed, apart from when they get announced I feel like I hardly see them at all. So not really that big a problem.

My comment regarding the ambassadors was that the ambassadors in general fit well with the slogan of don't crack under pressure in my opinion.

I think the reality is that if you are any sort of enthusiast or collector then it is very likely brand ambassadors do much for you. They are there to bring new and constant awareness of the brand to many different consumers as well as non-consumers (I.e. Plant the seed for when they are potential customers).

Yes generally they do, sportsman in general are a good pick, even if some might seem odd if they aren't particularly famous in your region. Not sure what pressure Alec Monopoly is under, or Chris Hemsworth?

I just take those two as general ambassadors, and in all I struggle to think of an actual brand ambassador that's ever managed to make me buy something because of them.

I've been more swayed by Steve McQueen and James Bond regarding my desire of Omega, Rolex and Heuer I'd guess. The same goes for any goods I've ever purchased.....is that the same for most?

I honestly can't think of anything I've bought or been swayed towards by an ambassador. TAG logo's on F1 cars is another matter.

I'll admit to being swayed on occasion (although not succumbed) towards a Monaco because of Le Mans and Steve McQueen. Senna is another who could have potentially swayed me (although I'm not really keen on the designs). And I guess my previous purchase of a JH80 was made more attractive because of the link to Jack Heuer. But would heartily agree with you regarding the more modern ambassadors, e.g. David Guetta, Cara Delevingne and that Monopoly guy 😀
