Thanks for posting- not sure I agree with everything, but I certainly agree that the emphasis on in-house movements has been damaging for some brands

In addition, your around-the-corner watchmaker, who could disassemble and reassemble a 2824 or a 2892 with blindfolds on, and could source parts or entire movements very easily, will have a hard time. And we will need to send our timepieces to Switzerland more often than in the past.
The "authorized watchmakers" disappeared a few years ago, and who knows who will survive after the proliferation of new calibres...
On the other hand, the "authorized stealer" I used to buy watches from will not be able any more to send the watches to his friend watchmaker and charge me for a repair in Switzerland...
