A way to tell if the deployement buckle you're buying is real.

At least the older style. See that little plastic ring? Only real ones have that. Fake ones use a different mechanism that doesn't require that. Thought I'd share the info, as ebay is flooded with fakes... .

Now, the newer style that doesn't have a split down the middle. I haven't figured out how to spot those yet. So if anyone knows, do share.

I think you are going to need to put some clasp model numbers against this as there are so many different types:

2mm or 3mm thick. TAG Heuer or Heuer. Width.

I have a genuine FC5014 (bought from TAG boutique) and it doesn't look anything like your photo.

I assume you mean, FC5014-0? Because FC5014 is the older style, like I have pictured above. The -0 means the newer style, where the center joint of the clasp, isn’t split down the middle. The split down the middle, uses the tension of the joint, as a spring for the push buttons. Which is where that little plastic ring comes in. The newer ones use a spring bar hidden inside of the clasp, for the push buttons.

The main point, was that there are only two variation buckle mechanism. The one you have, and the one in my picture. I haven't found anything new yet.
