I've had this strap put away for a bit, but finally decided to try it out on my Monaco (CAW211P). It's the blue and red strap from the 1989-99 50th Anniversary Monaco (CAW211X).

I thought it would either work great, or come across as way too much, and I am pleased that it's the former! It still needs a little breaking in, but overall, I'm really happy with it as a more sporty alternative to the black the watch came with.

Killer combo and the route I'd go if & when I get one!

Those 50th Anniversary straps both look great @MonacoMike and @VirgileF!!:thumbsup:

Personally, I'm partial to the dark blue and blue stitch combo of the CAW211D strap.

I thought about going that route as well, but I don't think the blue dialed Monacos look great on a brown leather strap - much to my disappointment - as I do love brown leather in general.

That's the strap I have on my 160th Carrera. Works really well on the Monaco too.

I also purchased the Silverstone Blue croc strap for my Monaco. But I feel the calfskin rally style is more to my liking.

I've recently been in contact with a TAG AD preparing some prices, the blue strap was quoted at £90 & bracelet £420.

The price of the bracelet seems to have gone up. I was quoted $295 USD when it was first released.

I was quoted £450+ for the bracelet fitted to the latest black faced Monaco, really disappointing after seeing reasonable quotes on here, plan B then.

All the more reason a Monaco belongs on a leather strap in the first place!

I think £450 is quite fair for a bracelet from a Swiss luxury brand. I was quoted £950 for the black bay 58 bracelet and the IWC bracelets are around £1500-1800 here.

MonacoMike - that looks superb and to me at least, is how the watch should've been kitted out from TAG.
    Very nice indeed!

Surprised at the £90 quote for an OE strap, considerably cheaper than a TAG dealer quoted me.
As an alternative, I can highly recommend the replacement straps from Watchstrapworld. Nice quality at around £55 delivered. I've bought several for my Monaco's with contrasting stitching and haven't been disappointed, worth a look.

Might just be me, but I think the Monaco's do benefit from a little colourful uplift with contrasting stitching on the straps.

i did supply a picture to the Tag Boutique & reiterated twice the one from the 50th anniversary editions. He did say it’s the correct one. I’m due to visit soon so will double check.

I do find the original strap bland looking but I guess period correct.

That’s expensive - the BB58 bracelet is approx £600 from RSC here.

450 quid for the Monaco is indeed fair. Most omega bracelets are between 5-700 and Rolex approx £1200 plus
