6000 Series Solid Gold Chronometer

I came across a short article in 'International Wristwatch' magazine the other day from 1995. It was just one page of text and one picture page, but what shocked me in this article was the price. Care to guess how much a solid gold 6000 on a full solid gold bracelet was in 1995?

I don't know in dollars, but in pounds it was £9500. Which equates to about £18,000 in today's money.
