Yes, it was 2 December 2009 when TAG Heuer announced the new Calibre 1887, and while the foibles of the launch have been dissected over the years, the fact remains the movement has been a huge success.

I'm writing an article to look back at the 5 years and what's changed over that time.

The movement started out as the "Calibre 18"

...and while we saw a power reserve variant at Basel in March 2010, it's never been made

What's your favourite 1887 over the 5 years? Only the Carrera to choose from on this one!

Just looking at the indices on that power reserve model, it looks like the PR markings are 0-50-100, does that mean then got a 100 hour power reserve out of a modified Cal 1887?

Sounds high doesn't it? Wonder if its like a car with a 300kmh speedo!

The standard version has a 50 hour power reserve, so I wonder if that is percentage rather than hours?

Ah true, I was just wondering if maybe they'd added a second barrel on the PR version like how they got the CH80 power reserve up to 80 hours, its a cool complication either way.
