Mine is a carbon effect freebie from Jura Watches which came with my Aquaracer. It’s suspiciously similar to the Barrington’s that they sell. Works well with my Aquaracer, along with the others now and then. Check out the settings for specific watches here: https://barringtonwatchwinders.com/apps/watches/turns-per-day
I would love to see them reissue the vintage F1s! Great article on them. Seems like the popularity of the vintage F1s have grown over the past few years, which has definitely increased the value. Seems like it was only yesterday where you could get them for dirt cheap! Someone needs to start 3D printing bezels or producing aftermarket bezels for them as they are getting hard to find. TAG Heuer Canada stated they will not service/repair any vintage F1 due to lack of parts. I'm currently in the process of restoring a WA1211 that I just bought.
Didn't someone else say that the straps weren't available anymore either? Mind you the last strap I had was terrible quality, it looked awful after a fortnight. I think they cheaped out on them. The ones I imported from Japan came on these really thick rubbery straps and when I started buying them they were thinner but decent. The last one looked like it was made out of a watering can (it was that awful dark green one).
Happy to report my mate loves his F1 calibre 5 Birthday Gift today. Unfortunately the store didn’t do anything nice (drinks etc) for his birthday & first luxury watch.
Mmmm, well.... you have to buy at least a Carrera to get drinks. Did he get an umbrella or a note pad or anything? Probably not for a F1
ha maybe. But guess 1st expensive watch 40th birthday. At least have a beer/ champagne etc. I’ve been offered that when just browsing. Hell even got the bubbly on some art I bought.
Heavy predictions from the one and only site in the whole world covering all things TAG Heuer http://tagheuerenthusiast.blogspot.com/2024/02/feature-will-2024-bring-first-ever.html?m=1 the whole Swatch thing seems to have fallen pretty flat with the Blancpain Swifty Fathoms so it probably doesn't even seem as great an idea as it did twelve months ago
I think the days of a sub $1000 TAG Heuer are long gone. The Moonswatch hype will never happen again. It was released during a worldwide pandemic while the watch community had more eyes on it than ever before. A very unique time that hopefully won’t happen again lol.
"Now that I've said all that you can bet your bottom dollar TAG will release a cheap plastic quartz Formula 1 at 'Watches & Wonders' now... thankfully you'll have all forgotten this post by then and I can pretend it never happened (posts can be deleted you know!)."
Yeah I think there was a discussion in another thread about how hodinky is, as always, just a marketing machine to build hype prior to an upcoming release
