Watched the film last night - it's another "brain out, enjoy the flashing lights" film without a huge amount of intelligence behind it. Fun though, although the CGI was particularly obvious in parts.

I tried watching this crap movie but gave up after 15 minutes or so. My god, not even a silver dialed Carrera could keep me interested 馃榿

Actually that's a good point. Chris Evans parodied his typecasting brilliantly i thought, and really showed up Gosling as the monochromatic actor that he always seems to be

I thought he brought it back to the 'Not Another Teen Movie' days. He's always had some interesting comedic capability, he just got stuck doing endless boring superhero movies

I think the plan was to create a good old fashioned action movie, given the massive success of Top Gun 2.

I lasted until about eight minutes in. I only found out about the watch tie-in the day after.

Now I'll have to watch it again...

TGV's video titles for TAG related stuff always come across as negative sounding, when in fact the video isn't really negative at all. He seems to have warmed up to TAG Heuer over the years. In his early days, the watch snobs who always bashed TAG seemed to have influenced his view of the brand, but I think he's changed now.

Yeah, good to see the biggest watch youtuber speak so well about TAG. This video made me feeel more positive about the three hander Carrera than I did before.

So predictable though, I would have preferred it in 36mm and a chrono in 39mm. Of course you would. All vintage watch enthusiasts want everything smaller and more like the old days, even though the watch he's talking about isn't a vintage re-issue or even inspired. I'm amazed he didn't say he would have preferred a Heuer dial and a glassbox case, in fact what he actually wants is the Ice King, he just doesn't know it exists

You missed it. :whipped:
He says exactly that at 11:50: "... and the 39mm Silver version of their recent Red dial LE would've been an absolute hit with collectors..."

Finally saw the watch in the flesh last week, thought actually quite nice, and if I was in the market for that style, it would've ticked a lot of boxes. Oddly both my dad & other half really like it.

Film I watched a few weeks back, Gosling was good with a bit of humour and Evans fun being a villain. Amez her usually stunning self! Plot a bit meh. Still it let the brain rest a few hours.
