Pretty nice IMO - I'm not into these carbon watches but there's something inspired about this one. I really like the Orange Boy-style hands in particular

The unique Heuer 02 calibre, the first to be fitted with a carbon hairspring, is hand-finished using 10 different techniques including a distinctive gratté finish giving the impression of a chequered flag.

It's very interesting, with lots of little details to explore and discover. I like how the leather strap impression pattern is that of the steel bracelet design.

I'm not into carbon, dark lord look or skeleton watches, but I still think it's cool.

    Pretty hot stuff.
Why they designed the small second dial non-skeleton is puzzling. Must be hiding something pretty ugly beneath there...

The finishing of the movement is almost as interesting as the dial.

Stunning, best tag in the last couple of years at least.

it looks great! Love the big, open caseback. Only minus for me is the strap design, but overall a killer!

Yes, the strap they designed doesn't flow very well. It would have been better to have a ribbed design.
The other thing that bothers me is the solid seconds subregister.and the "plain" hands. They should have used carbon hands on this one.

    Skeleton dial Monaco!

Just when I thought TH design people already graduated from making skeleton dials :D:p

But for a one-off, not so bad really ;)

(PS: interesting that they had to create design elements outside the circle dial to create that skeleton look :whistling:)

Regarding the strap, I'm of a different opinion. While I wouldn't want the strap for any of my Monacos, I feel the strap does go with the skeleton look of this specific watch. Although I believe its design mimics the steel bracelet, the pattern also looks like a backbone or some kind of bony structure to me. Hence from an artistic viewpoint, I feel it works.

Having said that, if they had created a matching carbon bracelet, that might have been even better.

I think its that "embossed leather to look like metal links" look that I don't like- they've done the same with The Formula 1 series, so maybe that's why I think it looks a little cheap.

Don't get me wrong...changing the strap out would be the least of my worries!

Yeah, I'm with you on that David, those embossed straps should be something left in the 1980s!

Wow this is an amazing piece! Owning a 1 of 1 is something I have always wanted. I wonder if Tag will ever make a Skeleton Monaco in the future... Heresy for some I know :D

I really like the strap actually, think it suits the watch very well. But as Rob always says, I do have terrible taste and no common sense in my brain.

I don't care for those plastic ones on the old S/el either, I'd take the bracelet or leather strap option over that.

I believe DC was referring to the Senna S link pattern on the most recent Senna Cal16 F1, which I actually like and would prefer over the F1 bracelet. But I see DC's point; if TAG hadn't already done this for the F1, it would have had a bigger impact for this watch.
