    Wishlist?

    By order of importance:

1- Compatibility with current Modular system

2- Option to upgrade/buy just the smartwatch module (at a reasonable price, if we already own a 2nd generation Connected)

3- Some more leather straps :D... rally type perfored for instance, in different colours and stitching combos

4- Additional mechanical modules. I understand the Connected is part of the Carrera family, so there’s no option to have Monaco or Autavia mechanical modules, but -for instance- it would be nice to have a panda Calibre 16, and a skeleton (phantom) Heuer 01 modules, in addition to the current modules

I fully agree with 1 and 2, but would also add significantly longer battery life (multiple days).

Along with previous posts, I would like to see the addition of a HRM (Heart Rate Sensor).

It would be nice, although after last updates, you can already connect a Heart Rate Monitor Belt by Bluetooth (much more precise than watch sensors) to the factory installed Google Fit app

Yes, this is always welcome, but not a priority for me, because after last System H update, battery life has improved a lot

This is the battery life I got today (22h), wearing an “always on” WatchMaker face and max 40% OPR when dimmed (high consumption settings), so it could easily handle two days wearing the factory installed TH faces.

I have no problem to charge it everyday (as I do with my phone), so improving battery ::rimshot::life is not a main point in my wishlist

As long as they use the Wear3100 chip the battery life should be improved GREATLY (with correct setting ofc). I say no LTE/4G, and I'm a bit iffy on HRM, they're not really accurate enough and they just add price/bulk etc. Speaking of wear3100, they MUST correctly program the watchfaces to use the colours in the wear3100's NEW "enhanced ambient mode" and set that mode as default. this will greatly improve battery life AND with the finally be able to show off the amazing work that has clearly gone into some of their watchfaces.

And that's it for me, really. #1, #2 and Wear3100 with correctly programmed enhanced ambient mode TH faces. (And that last one is really a MUST for TH to do, because otherwise no one would have any reason to upgrade from 2nd gen THC watches at all).

I don't really like the monitor straps or belts. If they incorporate something similar to whats on the Samsung Gear, that would be great. Like the review in the link below I have found it close(accuracy wise) to other fitness bands and taking by hand.

An on par with Android iOS compatibility/functionality would be fantastic although highly unlikely. Dangerous game if they continue to alienate Apple users with cut down usability and functions.

I was discussing the next Connected with a guy at the TAG Heuer outlet in Bicester last night. We were talking about just this and while I agree it would be good for the customers, does it make commercial sense from TAG's point of view? Probably not. Much better to make you buy more straps under the guise of being 'improved' design.

Commercial sense to keep compatibility with current TH Modular system? I think so! I think most of current 2nd generation THCM owners would buy the 3rd gen smartwatch module if we can upgrade just that module, so there is a big market selling just the smart module to all the already THCM customers, and selling the complete watch to the new TH Connected customers...

But -for sure- I’m not going to buy a 3rd gen THC (because I’m already happy with my 2nd gen) if I must pay again 1700€ for a complete watch, and not compatible with my current straps and accessories... No, I’m not going to start a new Modular collection if next gen is not compatible with current system! I already spent too much!

So, what is it better business for TAG Heuer: selling me a 3rd gen smartwatch module, or selling me nothing? ;)

It would mean that the next Connected meets at least the first condition of my wishlist:
1- Compatibility with current Modular system ;)

Tag would be smart if the new connected works with legacy lugs but the way cooler new strap designs require different lugs that perfectly compliment the watch case and also are an improved design themselves (current lugs get loose over time and can even pop off unexpectedly). That way, they still get us to pony up for new expensive lugs if we want any of the next connected "bling" or desire improved performance from the lugs themselves. An example of this would be a tapered black ceramic watch band.

Lugs (and case design) for the current Carrera Connected Modular share design and materials with the 45mm Carrera’s (Heuer 01, Heuer 02, and Heuer 02T), so if the lugs for the 45mm Carrera’s are not changing... do you think TH will change its design for the 3rd Connected gen?

45mm Carrera Heuer 01 (titanium lugs):

    Carrera Heuer 02 (titanium lugs):

Carrera Heuer 02T (titanium, black ceramic, rose gold, and diamond lugs, as in the Connected Modular):

About materials, the Connected Modular is only missing the carbon lugs... maybe for the 3rd gen? ;)

    About:
I have not these problems, and I’m changing the lugs/straps every day! :D

Only once my watch fell because one lug was not well set , but it was my fault :whipped:: since then I make sure to hear the “click” and check that they're both properly fixed before wearing the watch

If next gen Connected has new lugs (with a different link to the straps) but these lugs are compatible with the current Modular system, this would be not so terrible... we could use our modules both ways: with the 2nd gen lugs and current straps, and with the 3rd gen lugs and 3rd gen straps. Most important feature is the compatibility of the smartwatch & mechanical modules with both types of lugs.

Obviously I would prefer they keep current lugs/straps compatibility for the 3rd Connected...
I'd rather not have to buy new lugs to use a 3rd generation strap!
