There’s only Google Pay app for the watch, but not Apple Pay app!

Do you know how to use the TH Connected with Apple Pay? Because I think it’s not possible

I don’t know because I don’t have an iPhone, but I supposed it was possible.

Then I confirm you that it’s not possible. I've looked it up, and my information was correct: the TH Connected (Gen2 and Gen3) only work with Google Pay

    And what about this?

Is it not possible to install Google Pay in your iPhone and choose this payment app in the Connected?

There’s no Google Pay app for the iPhone. Anyway I could use Google Pay with the TH Connected through the Google Pay app which is factory installed in the watch... but there’s no way to use Apple Pay with the TH Connected, which was what we were talking about ;)

And since I already use Apple Pay with the iPhone, and I always carry it with me, then I did not find it necessary to configure Google Pay on the watch, and that's why I always have the watch NFC deactivated, which also saves battery

I'm the same as you Albert. I have a Android Samsung S10+ which is perfect for Google Pay and Android Pay.
I don't use my Watch for payments. I didn't use my Galaxy Watch either for payment.

I prefer to use my Phone and like you don't need to activate NFC while keeping the Battery life.

    Cheers

Same here and I too think it saves battery. I also deactivated (always on display) as I have no interest in the display being on when I'm not looking at the screen) I also de-activated most notifications except the important ones.
My battery now lasts well over 1 day and that's with at least 1 - 2 hours using GPS for running etc........very happy :)

Ok but it’s cooler to pay with the watch.

You are right it is kind of cool :)

Another reason why I deactivated NFC is because I don't like having to enter my password every time I wear my watch.

:D Yes, but as @oroloi said, I also don't want to have to enter a password on the watch

I would find it really useful if the watch had LTE and so you could leave the phone at home on certain occasions, but since Gen2 and Gen3 do not have LTE (maybe it comes with Gen4?), I prefer to use the iPhone to pay (specially since I was previously using Apple Pay) and save watch battery by disabling NFC

Surely there are also many articles saying otherwise. Also here it talks about smartphones, not smartwatches, and both have a very different battery size. Irrelevant consumption for a smartphone may already be more important for a smartwatch... but most importantly, and empirical: I noticed an improvement in the battery consumption of my watch when I deactivated NFC (since it was activated by default), so your article doesn't apply to my watch ;)

Is LTE needed for GPay? Garmin pay stores the information on the watch, no phone or LTE needed. I think Samsung Pay might be similar as well.

LTE is not necessary for Google Pay, but it is necessary to leave the phone at home (if you want to continue being able to make and receive calls or messages)
So I said I would find it practical to pay with the watch if the watch had LTE, because that would allow you to leave the phone at home.

But since any TAG Heuer Connected do not have LTE, you usually have to carry the phone with you, and then you can already pay with the phone (Apple Pay in my case that I use iPhone)

Unless I’m doing something wrong, has anyone noticed a recent update has broken the wear OS heart rate app? It’s now all red, rather than blue/green previously and doesn’t show any weekly data via the daily resting heart rate or have a way to actually measure rate on cue as the UI has gone.

I was thinking it may have something to do with TH adding heart rate functionality app of their own (although a very basic one) and it not interacting/destroying the wear OS one.

Do you mind sharing an image? Mine currently looks like this, not at all like it did 3 days ago.

^Thanks. It’s definitely a software or update error as it partially changed earlier today but it still broken and now no longer shows the graph part. Odd, but typical of new devices.
