I think the bezel on the 41 looks out of proportion to the face. It's like they've scaled down the face but not bezel from the 45.

Good point. I reserve final judgement until seeing it in the metal.

That's the size I want, but there's one issue...anyone noticed the other change from the 45mm?

Seems like a bad move considering the 500 or so posts about modular 45 battery life

Maybe smaller screen = less energy required. Might even out....
Yes that could be the main reason, in combination with limited space in the watch. We just have to wait and see.

What are the chances of both 45 and 41 sharing the same modularity fixing points and sizes? Specifically the straps being cross compatible.

Unlikely. There is a new 41mm mechanical module.

The new Connected Modular 41 is now available for purchase on the US TAG Heuer online store. Same might apply to other countries.

The rubber strap buckles are quite different.

Tried on the Modular 41 at an AD yesterday. For me with skinny wrists, it felt amazing to actually be able to wear the Connected! 45 works alright, but it's on the borderline of looking ridiculous on me. 41 fitted way better, however, I feel like you would want to have as large screen as possible in order to really benefit from a smartwatch. The model I now tried was the aluminum bezel and think the ceramic is better for everyday use, it looks better as well as can handle the scratches a bit better.

Quite different is a way to put it nicely! The watch could really benefit from having a smaller deploy. clasp instead of the standard buckle.
