I concur that this model is fantastic. However the new James Hunt edition is also an amazing contender for the title.

Oh, now that is nice. I'm really liking it on the strap.
The Hunt version leaves me a bit flat given Heuer never sponsored JH.

Agreed that is a little bit of a put-off, but judging from the design alone, it's a certainly a winner.

Yeah, I'd rather see a Niki Lauda version over the Hunt version. But I do like the RedBull Racing version on the blue strap.

The NATO strap is probably the one to get.

One could argue that the tribute to Lauda is this year's Monza.

I kept looking at the dial of the Red Bull and was wondering why it looked so different- it was the lack of the "12" that now seems obvious but I didn't pick it up at first.

Yes, the 12 O'clock number is a redundant; the dial looks cleaner without it. Maybe TH will remove it on future F1 models.

I like this blue F1 a lot too. The Hunt F1 didn't look different to many older F1s and I like the way this new RB one is celebrating an actual partnership also. May have to keep an eye on used values!

Edit. 43mm diameter though... Anyone know the lug to lug?

It's really nice, and you have to appreciate the fact they didn't spray logos all over it.

For me, I'd like to see a re-edition of the Gold Carrera that Lauda actually wore.

But in terms of a Lauda edition F1, I could see a panda dial, red bezel, and a red strap with a white/green/white pin stripe. Not only recalling the Ferrari 312T's livery, but matching Lauda's helmet and also TAG Heuer's own colors.

Interesting, as I am attracted to the 12 o'clock numeral markings myself...

I wonder if for authenticity when you get to the AD or boutique to pick it up the watch head is there ready to go but the strap or bracelet is stuck in storage out the back and needs a few minutes to be found. :)

I pre-ordered mine last summer and requested the strap version. For whatever reason the first one the AD received was the bracelet style. I ended up taking that one and don't regret it. The strap version would have been too casual for everyday wear at the office. I love it.

Ironically I was wearing it when I visited the RedBulll ring in Austria a few months back.

Not the best lighting in this picture

Do you guys think this might go out of production soon?

I've always had this in the back of my mind as one of my "one day I will get it watch". Looking at C24 hardly any seller has it available right now, only 8 sellers has it in stock which worries me that I might not be able to buy it within a year or so.

Perhaps I should move on it sooner, what do you guys think?

I bet there'll be quite a few available on the used market, maybe David has a better handle on shelf life? I remember when it first came out apparently the models on a bracelet sold out quick and you could seemingly only get it on that Nato thing.... but recently I've seen it for the first time on a bracelet in a local store. I guess they might update it at some point, so it depends I guess whether you can put up with some potential tweaks?

I wish they'd make a Daniel Ricciardo watch. Why does Max get a watch? The problem is Dan's probably leaving Red Bull at the end of next year so they probably won't...

    I don't think they'll disappear anytime soon.
