The Aquaracer 41mm has been updated for 2016- the main changes are the addition of a 43mm Calibre 5 model and a new rubber strap (FT6068).

Here are some shots of the 41mm model

The new strap looks great- black rubber with a bright yellow inner. Thanks to William for these photos

    Your welcome!

I am really happy with this watch, one more photo from my trip to China last week:

I also made a video review, if someone is interested (not the best one, it was my first try).

Since a lot of people were asking me about comparison with Omega SMPc, I made a video about this topic, maybe some of you will be interested as well.

Still love the watch, it has grown on me more than I expected.

Very good! I've always preferred the Aquaracer to the Seamaster, although at the top end, the Planet Ocean takes some beating- this is why I'd love to See an Aquaracer Heuer-03...a next-gen Aquagraph to take on the higher-priced POs.

I really like this, it's just a shame there is not a GMT version to compete with the Rolex GMT Master. Are there any GMT aquaracers now?

For me none of TAG Calibre 7 GMT watches is usable, I'm now in the market for a GMT watch but I want an independent 12 hour hand setting, so it won't be TAG this time.

What is unusable about the 24hr calibre 7?

As I wrote, I need independent setting on 12 hour hand, so that I can quickly and comfortably set local time (in 12h format) without hacking the movement and having to set minutes, so I want it work like Rolex GMT Master II or Omega cal. 8906. Calibre 7 (ETA 2893-2) has independent 24h hand, and that makes no sense to me.
Thank you, I'm glad that you like it.

I always set the 12hr (regular hour hand) to local time and the 24hour hand to my home (or work) timezone. I guess this means I do change the minute hand, but that doesn't seem like a drama as I have to set the minutes whenever I fly or change watches anyway. Having a 24hour GMT hand is very handy, avoids those 'is it morning or night' moments.

I, unfortunately, do mind setting the minutes, so cal. 7 is not a solution for me.

How does the GMT master work then? Separate positions on the crown for hours and minutes? I should try one, the problem is I far prefer the look of the aquaracer.

Edit: I've read up on it, I would still end up having to change the minutes because the GMT hand shows PST when I'm home and BST/GMT when I travel, and the hour hand shows local time - what's your use case to avoid this, not use the GMT hand when you're at home and leave it on one timezone?

    1. position sets only jumping 12 hour hand in 1 hour increments, and you also set date by going around dial with 12 hour hand.
    2. position sets 24 hour hand, 12 hour hand, minutes and hacks the movement.

So when you travel, you only use position 1.

That's what I do. GMT hand ALWAYS on UK time. Crown position 1 used while I'm waiting to take off to jump hour hand to time at destination.

Isn't it pointless having the GMT hand on uk time if you are in the uk? I always se the lesser (gmt) hand to my most relevant remote timezone.

Well, if I follow your logic, I'd set my GMT hand to GMT-5 as most of my work is based in Miami. But then when I'm flying to Miami, I'd have to switch my GMT and hour hands around! That just seems like a proper PITA.
For me, the beauty of my GMT is knowing at a glance (while jet-lagged) what my wife and kids are doing so I know if I can call/skype them. I don't need that when I'm in the UK!
I don't think this makes my GMT pointless. How many of us with chronos are lapping Le Mans on a regular basis?? :p

Yup, but the other beauty is being able to tell at a glance if my boss is awake :D

If I travelled more I'd probably leave the GMT hand on home time, but it's only about 20% atm. Gives me something to do during the 10hr flight too!
