2 Heuer for sale by auction

Something odd about that grey one. The subregister positioning is Cal. 14 I believe, but the date on the "71st" of the month looks like a typical Calibre 11 date-wheel. My Cal. 11 Hamilton was showing ""92nd" of the month today 🙁

Neither are true McQueen dials of course, somewhat later. Soooooo.....

Nota Bene: This advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

These models are powered by the Calibre 15, which is just a decontented Cal. 12 (I'll show a photo of the movement sometime, it's ridiculous) and the date wheel is the same, so that's not an issue.

I am no Monaco expert - (maybe I'll ping @SteveP for that 😝 ) but from the 1533s that are out there these look all right to me.

You're a funny man Mr @abrod520. 1, just 1 Monaco I own-and I've never even looked inside....heck, I can't even spell Monnoko! ;-)

That aside and in answer to the question, from what I can see they look OK-a significant amount of seal melt on the 1533b (blue dial) and it looks like the hands may not be original on the 1533g-the lume looks too narrow. At the starting price-they seem cheap, at the 'buy it now' price it;s difficult as the photos are clear enough to give a real assessment. . I am NOT a Monaco expert though I'm afraid.

Like Abrod520 above I'm no expert on Monacos but these look legit for Calibre 15 Monacos to me and see nothing that looks off with them.

The 71st date showing is simply the change over from 17 to 18 and is correct for the time shown on the watch, so no fear there.

The gasket melt on the blue one is significant and only popping it out of the case can you tell if it can be cleaned up well or not.

Both look fine to me in terms of being original:
- Hands on the blue dial are either from an Autavia or service hands
- I'd want to see these dials up close- the Cal. 15 Monaco dials are often damaged, especially at the outer edges of the dial. I know the ads discloses this, but you'd want some high res shots to see how bad it is
- Non-Heuer NSA bracelet is also disclosed. Yes it's the same bracelet, but the Heuer clasp is worth several hundred dollars...maybe more
- both cases looks like they've been polished- again, high res needed here
- As noted, the gasket is gone on the blue dial

Overall condition? 7/ 10?
